Summer Nights
Thursday, August 1, 2019
I bought this dress in May, and have been patiently waiting until it was hot enough to wear it. Which somehow took until the very end of July, but fuck I'll take it. This dress is silk and I love the loose fit, and lightweight material of it. It's definitely got a 90s vibe to it that is very popular right now too.
This lipstick is new and I love how bright and neon pink it is, it's definitely my go-to for the summer months now. It's really really fun. Same with these leopard print shoes which are a fun little pop in an otherwise neutral outfit.

The weather has been very up and down, raining one minute, hot the next. It's frustrating to plan our duke walks let alone plan a goddamn outfit. Layers it is! These pants are comfy af, and I have a pair of black, and mustard yellow ones that are going around in rotation pretty heavily. I wear them to work with a simple tee or out for coffee with a tank and some jewelry.
Sassy AF.
Mr. Duke is quite clearly the best part of this whole outfit, he's way cuter than me and such a good lil' poser haha. He has been so grumpy with the rain but luckily it was his birthday this past week and got to gobble down a burger. He had cancer last year, I think he earned that burger for sure. What a good guy.

It was hot hot hot here last week and it's feeling much like summer. In accordance I have busted out my denim shorts and kimono collection. I love me a good summer kimono because it lets me keep covered from getting a sunburn but also is so lightweight feels like I'm wearing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all. Damn sexy flanders
Moving right along, this body suit is a recent purchase (got it mothers day) from Workhall, they were having a buy one get one free sale and I found this bodysuit and a gorgeous silk dress that is also perfect for the summer heat. I love the colour of this bodysuit and it's quite flattering if I do say so myself, I've already worn this baby a few times. Also my feminist bling necklace is newish and I am obsessed. Say it loud and wear it proud sistas!

In the summer I am a huge fan of kimono's, they keep the sun off my shoulders, add interest to any simple look and are cool and comfortable. This one is a recent acquisition, and I have been patiently awaiting a nice warm day to bust it out. The colour is a perfect pop and the print is Hawaiian shirt esque which makes me happy.
This LBR (little black romper) is a vintage piece I picked up this winter and have been saving as well. You can't pass on the perfect little black romper when you find it even if it's months before appropriate to wear. I have had my eye out for one for yeeeears, this one ticks all my boxes: Comfortable, Simple & POCKETS! Girl loves her some pockets, besides the little lace details along the bottom are too sweet to pass on.

Under the High Top

These pants are transitioning quite nicely into spring and hopefully summer as well. They are super lightweight which will be awesome when it gets warmer. I love that I went for something bold like this and am getting my use out of them, they just make me so happy. So say it loud and say it proud BEETLEJUICE!
With bold prints like these pants, best to keep everything neutral, which is most of my wardrobe anyways. I've had this denim jacket for almost 4 years now, and its gotten to that perfect spot of worn in and lovely. It's from forever 21, so not where I want to be shopping but I think if I've worn it for 3-4 years it's not exactly "fast" fashion. I like keeping pieces for a long time.

If you're sick of seeing these pants yet, sorry not sorry but they're here to stay. I wear them ALL the time, because they feel like pjs but are so much more fun. Honestly they're all I want to wear, is this turning into a problem? Do I have an addiction to my pants?! Could be worse. Also I've decided it's denim jacket time, aka spring. It's gone from being snowy, cold and white to less chilly, dirty and brown everywhere. Ah spring in Alberta.
Don't mind me just hanging out in front of so pretty cara cotter, not only is their jewelry gorgeous, their store front is too. My hood in Edmonton is getting so many awesome businesses, shops and little eateries, it's amazing. I love seeing this! Nothing better than putting on my fancy pants on and exploring the neighborhood!

Still in Oliver
Monday, February 25, 2019
Since it's been about -20 degrees celcius or colder for almost the entirety of the last 4 weeks we have been avoiding any sort of photos outdoors. But as I ran out of back logged stuff, I knew it was time to get creative. Luckily the Oliver Exchange building in our 'hood is super beautiful, has lovely lighting and some great shops as well.
I dragged Darcy over, got a delicious coffee from the newly opened iconoclast coffee. We perused plum home and design, and peeked in on the progress being made on the grab and go food shop and brewery. I can't wait for those to open! So close to home, and really such a beautiful building. It's great to see so many cool things popping up in edmonton. So this time this Still in Edmonton shirt is less ironic and more yay Edmonton! I love a cute skirt paired with a simple tee, and with my shit kickers (lace up boots) it feels very 90's but also not too 90s. The perfect balance. God I can't wait for it to warm up!!

I got this piece in the fall and have worn it SO MUCH. Such a basic piece and perfect for layering as well, under another sweater when it's chillier or on it's on. It's super soft which is always a bonus, and evidently I wear it with stripes a few times and big ol' sunnies. Guess I have a consistent style...
