The weather has been very up and down, raining one minute, hot the next. It's frustrating to plan our duke walks let alone plan a goddamn outfit. Layers it is! These pants are comfy af, and I have a pair of black, and mustard yellow ones that are going around in rotation pretty heavily. I wear them to work with a simple tee or out for coffee with a tank and some jewelry.
Sassy AF.
Mr. Duke is quite clearly the best part of this whole outfit, he's way cuter than me and such a good lil' poser haha. He has been so grumpy with the rain but luckily it was his birthday this past week and got to gobble down a burger. He had cancer last year, I think he earned that burger for sure. What a good guy.

Update on Mr. Duke
Monday, December 24, 2018
As many of you know, Mr.Duke had a tumor removed in early November. It was deemed to be cancer and he had a big surgery to remove it. They tested said tumor and found it to be low grade, meaning it hadn't spread and the surgery made him cancer free! I posted on my social media about it, but thought Duke deserved his own post. He has had some health issues in the past but mostly teeth related (he chews hard and plays tug o war till he bleeds...) but this was a much more serious incident.
I noticed a squishy lump on his low back a few months ago, the vets said to keep an eye on it. Well over the course of 3 days it had gotten much bigger and become harder. I was concerned so immediately called the vet, within 24 hours of them testing it he had it removed. I am so glad we caught it when we did and I trusted my gut to have it looked it! Mr. Duke was such a trooper and is back to his normal self humping at the dog park, going to daycare etc. I am so impressed with his ability to heal, and I think we could all take a page out of doggos books. They never sit around feeling sorry for themselves but get right back at it, which is amazing.

I babysat my parents dog a few weekends ago, he is the handsome brown and white boston terrier/french bulldog in these photos. Same breed as Duke but don't let his cute mug fool you, he is a handful! We lovingly call him the terrorist, as he has separation anxiety and likes to destroy blankets, pillows and duvets....FUN TIMES. I appreciate Mr.Dukes chill personality so much now.
These shoes are gorgeous, I am so happy I found them in Beacon's closet in Brooklyn. I can see these babies getting a lot of wear, they go with everything! When I purchased this black slip dress from Oak & Fort two summers ago I had no idea what a staple it would become in my life. It goes with everything and it's so versatile that I can wear it in a multitude of ways while it stays looking fresh. The plain white tee under a slip dress is a total throwback to 90s style again that I'm digging. Even though I was a bit of a skeptic I am all aboard the fanny pack train it seems, I found this brand new Rebecca Minkoff for $50 at Crossroads Trading co in NYC and I'm in love. It also has a strap so it's not just a fanny.

Duke is giving Brutus some serious side eye here. Love them!

This romper was a great purchase I recently picked up, it was on sale and its super soft and cozy. It's the perfect thing for a hot summers day like a couple we've been lucky enough to experience lately. It essentially went from winter to summer in the blink of an eye as it often does here. Hey, I am certainly not complaining!
To me nothing says summer like a denim jacket, they always go with everything. I think having a good denim jacket is a great staple piece in any wardrobe, light or dark. The perfect addition to any outfit though I think is Mr.Duke. He's so versatile....ha! But really, I don't really go many places without this little piglet, he was so happy to sit on the cool concrete on a hot day and have his photo snapped. 13/10 a good boy.
Love of my life!

I'm pretty sure anyone who has ever owned a dog thinks their dog is the best. But mine is! Mr.Duke is the best pal ever, we've been through so much together. I am obviously a crazy dog lady and when my client and friend bought me this tee for my birthday it was so fitting. This just happens to be the perfect white tee, not only is it soft as all hell but it fits like no other.
If you run into me just going for a jaunt in the neighborhood 9/10 this is my go to look. Jeans, tee, and leather jacket. Perfect for fall dog walks! Now enough about me, look at how cute Duke is!!!

I found this t-shirt on sale and I couldn't not buy it. It has pineapples AND french bulldogs on it, I think this shirt was literally made for me! It's also the most comfortable material in the world, so perfect for the summer heat. This may possibly be something I've worn like 15 times since I got it. You can't help what you love!
How beautiful is this yellow leather jacket? This is such a happy, fun colour and it always perks up any outfit. It's nice to have a piece that adds a little pizzaz to any look, simple but fun. Hope it perks up your monday!

Mr. Duke

Today is a very special day....today Mr. Duke Donovan turns 6 years old! Apparently in dog years that means he's entering middle age, but my guy is still quite energetic and happy, just has a lot more white in his face now. I have had Duke since he was 10 weeks old, and he quickly became my best friend.
We have a very special bond, mostly because when I got Duke I was recovering from open heart surgery. He became my BFF, my walking buddy, the motivation to get fitter, as he grew I got back into my routine. He actually forced me to be more social especially when I wasn't feeling like interacting with others. I had 6 major surgeries within' 14 months and he was an incredibly big part of my emotional recovery. Having this dog has taught me more patience, he's a huge responsibility and is my number one priority and in return he gives me so much affection and really chills me out on crappy days.
Duke and I do everything together, we run stairs, go to the park, grab coffee, he even sometimes helps me train clients at work. Dogs really are man's best friend and when www.puppyspot.com asked me to talk about my guy I was more than happy! If you want a furry friend of your own check out the puppies for sale on their site. Duke's not just a french bulldog, he's mixed with a boston terrier, so while his energy level is moderate he definitely needs a lot more exercise. He's usually walking 1-3 hours a day, he loves the dog park and sprinting after his ball, then napping for hours after.
