Squat Form Stretches
Monday, April 30, 2018
If you're having a hard time getting deeper into your squat and reaching 90 degrees try to work on some of these movements and stretches. These will help loosen up tight hips, hamstrings, and adductors.
1. Supported deep squat
Hang onto the pole and sink into your hips, hold onto the pole lightly and try to relax into it. Hold it for a few minutes.
2. Unsupported deep squat
Use your arms to press your elbows into the knees, sink your hips low, keep the chest up and back flat. Go in and out of this position, try to hold for as long as you can. 3 sets
3. Hip openers
Knees are bent, push up onto your knees, and push your hips forward, sink back down. Repeat 10x and then switch which leg is in front.
4. Adductor stretch
Knee bent sink into the one hip keeping the other leg straight. Hold for 30s each side repeat 3 sets
5. Hip Flexor Stretch
One knee bent, push into that side, you should feel the stretch in the front of the hip hold 30s 3 sets
6. Frog stretch
Feet turned out, hips nice and wide sink back into your glutes hold 30s 3 sets

Body Positivity- Find your movement
Wednesday, April 25, 2018
I have never felt more in tune with my body, or more happy with my body than I am when I'm boxing. This is one of the only workouts I've been able to find where I want to push myself to my limit, to spend hours trying to fix a movement pattern, to go to the point where I might taste blood. For me, finding happiness and being able to look more positively at my body it took me finding movement that my body loved doing.
I think the trend in fitness is to workout for the point of aesthetics, to grind it out to look a certain way and not enjoy the process. I think that if you can find something you really enjoy the process of then you'll always feel at home in your body. Like everything we do in life what's the point of doing anything without passion?
Body positivity is a process, it's not something that just happens overnight. There's good days and bad days but finding some form of movement you're passionate and setting movement based goals will help you find that. For example: Lift more, run faster, get more flexible, work on your left hook. These things put you into your body for the sake of moving it not for it's aesthetic purposes.
That’s my challenge to anyone reading this:
1. Try out some new forms of movement
2. Set movement based goals
3. Try to visualize your body as a tool to produce that movement. Focus on things that will
Improve that.
4. Practice speaking of your body in only positive terms

Stripes On Stripes
Monday, April 23, 2018
Can you believe that I'm wearing bare legs in these photos?! FINALLY. Here in Edmonton we spent 169 days below zero, not a full consecutive 24 hours above zero. That's record breaking, and definitely a record I am NOT happy we broke.
I sure am a happy camper that we have gotten into the double digits this week. I sure hope it stays this way, because I swear to god I will kick someones ass if I see another snowflake.
This tee shirt is my go-to these days, a plain white tee that makes me feel like a badass babe? Yes yes yes. Perfectly paired with this striped skirt and a pop of colour! I love that I accidentally picked a background that matched my outfit. What can I say I like the look of stripes? I got this skirt second hand and I have worn it a handful of times in about a month. I love finding pieces like that

Feelin Hot Hot Hot
Wednesday, April 18, 2018
Oh fancy that, here I am wearing a wrap dress, right after talking about wrap tops. I bought this sessi little number for our Mexican adventure and it was the perfect piece to throw over a bikini or wear out for a dinner. I was sad to come home back to the deep freeze because I wanted to wear it some more.
Then I had my AH-HA moment, layering! This striped long sleeve is now a staple in my wardrobe since picking it up at a swap in February, I wear that shit with everything.
The lack of sunshine and warmth may be making me a little craaazy, I swear to jeeebuz if I see more snow I might start crying. Speaking of tears, my brand new canon camera got stuck on video mode so I had to send it off to be fixed...see you in 6-12 weeks. AND Canon won't honor the warranty because of where it was purchased, so I got it in december, it stops working in april and I have to pay for that?! NO BUENO. So, these photos are of slightly lesser quality because I'm using my 10 year old camera, thank god I had a back up.

2 T pepper flakes

Explore Tulum
Wednesday, April 11, 2018
Tulum was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, the white beaches, the blue ocean, the tacos! There's so many cute hotels along the beach and so many amazing restaurants to check out.
To see:
I love seeing historic sites, and these ones were amazing! Not only was the history here amazing, its absolutely stunning there. You can walk through the ruins and then wander down to a small private beach and go swimming. We spent about an hour going through the ruins, then read our books on the beach, so damn lovely
To do:
Tulum Jungle Gym
Being a personal trainer, obviously I love working out, so when I heard about this gym on the beach in Tulum I knew I had to check it out. The owner designs all the equipment and has it made locally out of wood and stone. HOW COOL! I was really stoked to try everything out, and was not disappointed, such a fantastic workout. And we got a coconut afterwards!
To eat:
Mataos / Raw Love
Right after our workout we went to Raw Love to have the MOST amazing smoothie bowl, it was delicious and really pretty. Their raw organic food was delicious, so much tasty fruit.
We beached it then a few hours later we had the most amazing tacos!! Yes, not disappointing, we legit walked 30 minutes to get these and we were so happy.

When I found this blouse at winners, I knew it had to come with me to Mexico. The colour, the print, the cut, totally appropriate for a hot weather destination. I really love wrap style anything, dresses, tops, I'm really glad to see them back in style these days. This style is perfect for all body shapes, totally flattering. Only issue is I refused to bring a bra on holidays and in some of these photos you could definitely see right into my blouse. Note to self: bras with wrap tops aren't optional.
For some reason I am obsessed with anything with a pom pom, I thought that would level off once beanie season was over. But here I am +30 degree weather rocking pom poms on my hat. How cute is this hat though, the multi coloured poms are so fun. I can't wait for it to be nicer at home so I can bust out more colourful pieces too.

Florals/Sport style
Are florals ever not in for spring/summer? I love this print because it's super feminine in a style that reminds me of my sports bras. So it's hella comfy, unfortunately my bootay was too big for the matching bottoms, but I do love me a set.
I find this amazing and awesome especially because over the year's I've struggled with body image issues. Like everyone, there's bits and pieces I would obsess over, 10 years ago I would have never had the balls to do a post like this. After all my surgeries I decided my body was amazing and I would love it more, especially with all my badass scars.
Mix & Match
Mix and match is most certainly my go-to. Not everyone's tops and bottom halfs match in size! Mine certainly don't so it's awesome to find styles of bottoms you love and mix it with funky tops. This season this pineapple top is my favourite, because, pineapples!
Red Hot
A bright red bikini, need I say more? So good.
I wish my sunburn didn't perfectly match this suit though.......
The One Piece
Surprisingly this is my first one piece in years! But when I saw this pineapple print I fell in love. I wasn't expecting it to be so high cut in the booty area, can't say I'm mad though! Just glad I did those extra squats ;) I think I'll be getting more one pieces in the future, so cute! Also, throw a pair of shorts on and viola, you have a cute top
