Hike Yosemite

Tuesday, September 3, 2019
One of my favourite parts of our whole trip was our hike in Yosemite! I wish we had been able to do the half dome but you need a permit for that one and I did not get ahead of things enough. Also half dome takes about 9-12 hours so it's best if you're staying right in the park.
We decided to go with the mist trail, checking out vernal and nevada falls. It was a very very beautiful hike and not too strenuous. It's just over 10km and the elevation gain is 668m I believe. So some of it is quite steep, which was fun.
It only took us about 4.5 hours and was lots of fun, but best to get there nice and early. The crowds are intense, and it gets quite hot there in the summertime. We started the hike at 730 am, it was nice and cool and significantly less people on the trail.

 Headstand, because why not?

Explore Brooklyn

Wednesday, May 30, 2018
On our rainy day in NYC my brother took me to Brooklyn for brunch, exploration and some vintage shopping.

To eat: Rider

Not only is this spot very visually appealing, but the food was amazing. You HAVE to get the donuts if you go there, also the best avocado toast I had the whole trip and I ate avocado toast pretty much everyday.

Brooklyn had some amazing street art, some of the best, it was so cool to wander around looking at all the unique and impressive graffiti. I would recommend walking the brooklyn bridge to head over there but for us it was pouring rain so we didn't get to that. It's okay because I did it the last two times I was there ;)

To shop: Beacons Closet

The best!! I could have spent the whole day here, there is so much to go through at this location. I was super impressed with some of the labels as well, I found a pair of Loeffler Randall flats for $40! I love finding a good deal and I love when vintage and consignment shops have higher end pieces and not just crap quality things for slightly less than in store. We also hit up Cross Roads Trading co, I found the one in midtown way better than the one in Brooklyn though.

My finds:
Spots and dots! The romper/overalls are H&M, and these are my amazing Leoffler Randall flats

New York, New York

Monday, May 28, 2018

On my first day of exploration's in NYC it of course rained. But what is more New York than the subway? Also didn't even realize when I was getting dressed that day that my jacket perfectly matches the taxi's....I have a weird tendency to do that.

I picked up this striped long sleeve from a swap a few months ago and it has been a staple in my wardrobe since. I am trying to create a more cohesive wardrobe, where everything goes well together and can be easily mixed and matched. I found a few amazing pieces on my trip to New York, and I'm really excited to put them in the mix.
Can you tell I'm incredibly hungover in these photos? We had a really good first night in NYC! If you're ever there hit up Oscar Wilde for some top notch cocktails

Outfit: Top-Swapped, Jacket-Zara (second hand), jeans-Dynamite, Bag-Winners, Shoes-Aldo

Explore Tulum

Wednesday, April 11, 2018
Tulum was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, the white beaches, the blue ocean, the tacos! There's so many cute hotels along the beach and so many amazing restaurants to check out.

To do:

Tulum Jungle Gym

Being a personal trainer, obviously I love working out, so when I heard about this gym on the beach in Tulum I knew I had to check it out. The owner designs all the equipment and has it made locally out of wood and stone. HOW COOL! I was really stoked to try everything out, and was not disappointed, such a fantastic workout. And we got a coconut afterwards!

To eat:
Mataos / Raw Love

Right after our workout we went to Raw Love to have the MOST amazing smoothie bowl, it was delicious and really pretty. Their raw organic food was delicious, so much tasty fruit.
We beached it then a few hours later we had the most amazing tacos!! Yes, not disappointing, we legit walked 30 minutes to get these and we were so happy.

To see:
Tulum Ruins

I love seeing historic sites, and these ones were amazing! Not only was the history here amazing, its absolutely stunning there. You can walk through the ruins and then wander down to a small private beach and go swimming. We spent about an hour going through the ruins, then read our books on the beach, so damn lovely

Explore Mexico

Monday, April 2, 2018

Our time in Mexico was amazing, not only the weather but the fact that we got to have some much needed downtime and some very fun exploration. One of our days of exploration brought us to one of the seven wonders of the world, Chitchen Itza.

To See: Chichen Itza

When I say I was in awe it is no lie. I love history and exploring these places I've read so much about was really cool. The pyramids and alters were incredibly impressive, same with the "football" field, where the winner of the games was murdered to appease the gods.

To Do:  Swim in the Cenotes

This was one of our favourite activities, swinging from a rope and flying through the air to splash into essentially a giant sink hole?! FUN. It was thrilling, an amazingly exhilarating experience which I highly suggest.

To Explore: Vallidad, and the local markets

Vallidad was a gorgeous colonial city I wish we had had more time to explore, it was picturesque and gorgeously colourful. I love that about Mexico, every building painted a different vibrant hue.

The local markets were also so much fun to explore, we picked up a couple things, I couldn't resist getting our Mayan horoscopes done, which were surprisingly accurate. It's just fun to look at all the locally made goods, and here they weren't pressuring you to buy.
