Sweater Weather!
You can always tell it's colder outside by my pinched smile, I'm trying real hard to look happy here but clearly am not digging the wind that's blowing at me making it feel like -17. GROSS. Just means it's truly time to bust out my super thick, cozy sweaters and go to town layering away. I love me a good sweater dress, & this one was a great find at value village a few months ago.

I have had my eyes on these boots since I first saw them in October, I have always been really into over the knee boots. After christmas I saw them online for about 1/4 the price! Ah I love me a good deal. And I'm really into these boots, they're flat which is super comfortable and they actually stay up. I love a good sweater dress and this one is always a go-to, I've had it for about 3 years and it's still just as cozy. I like this palette of black, white and maroon together, it's subtle but still pops too.

Game Changer

As you can see by my choice of jacket attire, the temperatures around these parts are getting a little warmer. The snow is slowly starting to melt (and snowing again) so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I busted out my denim jacket for a warmer day and man did that brighten my mood. Anyone who says it can't clearly has never owned the right denim jacket. A denim jacket with the perfect lightweight sweater dress to boot. A perfect combo during this weird transition season I think.

Security Blanket

I feel I've been going very neutral in my wardrobe lately and am being pulled to all the same shades of dark green, black and some beige. It's very unlike me not to have a bit of a pop of colour. But I must say I am digging it. It's nice when your whole wardrobe goes together and flows. Although when it ends up on your bedroom floor (as it eventually always does #truth) it can be hard to find a certain piece.
I am sure I will be all over brights for spring and summer as I always am, but for now I will wallow in my muted tones. If dressing reflects your mood it would appear I am moody. In the middle of January, yes I am feeling that way. I am finding myself super drawn to staying in and cuddling on the couch and catching up on sleep these days. PARTY ANIMAL right here. So let me pile on the blanket scarves and get cozy, I'll be done hibernating come March.

Winter Dressing

Whelp, it's finally happened. Winter is here and it's -19 with a windchill of -29. Yeah.....welcome to Canada. My eyes are burning as I walk to work, it's brutal. But it also means it's time to bust out the winter coats, cozy sweaters and layer up. I have to admit I was so happy to bust this baby out, not only is it cozy as hell but it's so cute. It's so important here to have a load of warm coats and having a good choice of cute ones really helps.
I think sweater dresses are going to be my go-to for the next few weeks of cold temperatures. Sweater dresses and fleece lined tights, a girl can't go wrong for that. Warm, cozy and stylish! It's hard to hit all those things on the list in this climate!

Comfort Zone

I have never been a fan of turtle necks, not because of the aesthetic but because they make me feel like I am slowly, gently being choked to death. I guess I'm claustrophobic. But seen as you can't swing a stick in a store without knocking over 10 different turtle necks this fall I thought I'd give them another go. This one is not as severe as some of the other ones out there. It's more of a mock neck, baby steps for me. It's super comfortable so it's got that going for it and has some subtle sparkle so I guess I like it.
The chunkier knit and short jacket is a combination I really love gravitate towards right now. I'm so glad I held onto this moto jacket, the colours are always great for autumn. It's always nice when you rediscover something in your own wardrobe, it saves the wallet from being tempted into buying more things. I'm a bit of spend thrift right now so that's right up my alley
