Versatile Pieces
Outfit: Dress/Rings-Noul, Denim jacket-F21, Sweater-Aritzia, Shoes/Sunnies-Winners, Purse-Calvin Klein
This whole resurgence of the 90's style has me pretty happy; simple, easy pieces that mix and match well. This slip dress has heavily been on rotation for the past year for me. I dressed it down with this hoodie, and denim jacket for a coffee date with a friend. I've also dressed it up with heels and a cute little jacket and even tucked it into high wasted jeans as a cami. I swear this is the most versatile piece of clothing I own.
I think there is a lot of focus with fashion of more, more, more. I find myself even getting caught up into this and wanting something new, something more on trend etc etc. But I think that if I had 10 items that were so easy to mix and match. I would actually be much happier.

Float on

This marble printed top is basically the only thing I own that's white. If you're clumsy like me, that makes sense to you, if not well let me elaborate. This was the first time I had worn this, I was trying very hard not to spill on it, as I took it off I smeared lipstick on the inside. ^&%^. Every.damn.time. But that's what a good detergent is for I suppose.
I couldn't pass this beauty up though, marble printed, business in the front, party in the back and feels like a dream. It's such a lovely piece that I immediately had to pair it with a motorcycle jacket and more masculine details. I really love mixing typically more feminine pieces with edgier ones, I've always liked the balance it hits.
Also, it's Dec 1 and barely any snow, I'm doing my happy dance

Autumn tones

Now that its gotten quite chilly over the weekend, it feels like forever since bare legs and backs. But I still have hopes I can bare my legs once again before the snow flies. I cant help that I am a warm blooded mammal and I hate being cold!
For an outfit thrown together at the last minute I must say I was quite pleased with this look to celebrate my birthday. I had something else planned but it was going to be less accommodating in the gorge yourself on taco regions, so a change had to be made! However, I hate when things bunch up under fitted skirts, is there a trick my mom was supposed to teach me but just forget....help me.

Witchy Woman

When I went on holidays to BC last week I knew I wanted to take photos at what we like to call "the golden hour". It's so beautiful there I had the idea in my mind of how awesome they would look, and I am sure they would have, except we missed it just by a bit, so instead we have photos at dusk. Which kind of worked with the witchy woman theme I had going on with my layered necklaces and light kimono.
Sadly, this kimono was lost during this trip, left forgotten in a hotel room in Valemont, not to be returned. I am more sad than I should be over an article of clothing, I became weirdly attached to it, calling it momo. I think because it was the perfect lightweight article to throw over any summer dress or shorts and still feel put together. Alas, I will have to find another momo next year.

Body Suit Club

I bought this bodysuit when I was still blogging circa 2013 & I am glad to say that it's stood the test of time. I had a light-bulb moment shopping with Vickie the other day because she's obsessed with bodysuits. I remembered this little number and went digging to find and retrieve it from the bag almost en route to the salvation army! Now that's timing.
It has been so humid here this summer and I was sweltering on this day, high waisted shorts + a body suit saved the day. Plus this amazing new heels I got half off from Aldo, I almost look tall! At least this gives the illusion that I have long legs ;)

Dreamer

I bought this slip dress way back in February, and I have been dreaming of the day I could pair it with a simple denim jacket. In my mind that would be a perfect combination for summer. And it actually was, I love when what you have in mind actually works out! This dress is so incredibly lightweight that I've worn it over wool tights and under heavy sweaters in the winter and now just as is in the hotter months. Gotta love pieces that are that versatile don't ya? Now if I had only bought it in every colour......

Kimono

When its hot and muggy here in the summer it can make getting dressed a little tricky. What I want to be able to do is layer, but usually layers means more clothes and more clothes means more heat. Thats why this little kimono from Noul has been a godsend, its so lightweight and goes with everything. Like this floral romper, also made out of chiffon like material for those hot hot summer nights. Best part of rompers, is they make your legs look so long and at 5 2 I will take full advantage of that! I cant wait to pack this one up for my vacation later this summer.
Simple Pieces

I am still wildly obsessed with this jacket and if I could it would be in every single post. But that would probably bore you...Or maybe not because it's the bomb. I own several things for the reason that putting them on instantly perks up my mood. Most of those items, like this jacket happen to be very, very bright. Especially on an ugly gray day like this.
I love having really simple pieces that pop and are easy to interchange and change up. This dress is definitely one of those pieces. It's technically a slip, but on it's own works so well as a super light and easy dress. It's nice to have pieces that can be easily dressed up or dressed down. I have very limited closet space, so having pieces like this is a space saver & also great on a budget. You should definitely check Noul out for simple, easy pieces like this.
