Outfit: Jacket-Dynamite, Jeans/Top-f21, Necklace-Red Ribbon, Shoes- Aldo, ring-Vintage, Choker-The Bay
Well folks, it's official. I'm wearing a colour AND it's warm out. Guess it must be spring or something....
This jacket though! I bought it in February and it's been hanging on my wall tempting me to wear it on days when it's minus 1 million. Finally I can rid myself of wool long jackets and wrap myself in what my heart desires. Pastels and bodysuits.
This here is a very exciting occasion as well because it's the first pair of high waisted pants I've ever owned. Yes you read that right. I have been searching for a pair for a while now, not wanting to spend too much on them as I was unsure if I'd get any real use from them. Well let me tell you, I am getting serious use out of these. My wardrobe has opened up to include so many body suits! It's an exciting time my friends

Outfit: Dress-winners, boots-nine west, bag-winners, jacket-f21, Ring-Miss Boss, Necklace-Red Ribbon
As you can see by my choice of jacket attire, the temperatures around these parts are getting a little warmer. The snow is slowly starting to melt (and snowing again) so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I busted out my denim jacket for a warmer day and man did that brighten my mood. Anyone who says it can't clearly has never owned the right denim jacket. A denim jacket with the perfect lightweight sweater dress to boot. A perfect combo during this weird transition season I think.
Happy Weekend!

Slow cooker pasta sauces are always a good idea, you can make bulk and freeze them or dinner is basically done after a long day at work. I picked a classic bolognese sauce and paired it with some spaghetti squash, I really loved this combo together!

1 medium yellow onion
4 T parsley
4 T basil
5 cloves garlic crushed
1/2 cup red wine
1-2 medium sized spaghetti squash

2, Slice spaghetti squash in half, bake at 345 for 40minutes
T Spine Mobility
Monday, March 20, 2017
T spine mobility is an important part of any healthy back, this helps promote proper posture and ensure your arms and back can move into proper positions. When your mid back freezes up it can put you into a forward rounded position, and cause impingement and pain in your shoulders during certain exercises. This has been an issue with many of my clients along with myself, so even if you aren't working long hours in a seated position this may be an area for you to make improvements.
1. Foam rolling the Tspine.
Lay with your arms crossed over your chest, use the roller to mobilize the mid back, roll forward and backwards over it. Perform 2minutes
2. Side laying stretch
Bottom leg on the ground straight, top leg bent to 90 degrees, place bottom arm on top of that bent leg. Rotate and try to bring top scapula (shoulder) towards the ground and hold 30s, repeat on the other side 2x
3.T spine stretch
Arms elevated on block, should be in line with the head. Hold a dowel in the hands straight arm and then bend the elbows back behind the head to a comfortable position
4. Rotations
Start with hands under shoulders, knees under hips, keep the core tight. Bring a bend into one arm rotate towards opposite arm and then open chest up towards other side. Repeat 5-10x per side 2x
5. Quadriped
Same starting position, extend opposite arm, opposite leg, keep core tight no extension through the lumbar (low back), drive knee towards hand keep core tight.

Outfit: Scarf-dynamite, jacket-h&M (old), jeans-dynamite, sweater- f21, rings-vintage, sunnies-red ribbon, necklace-saraswati, shoes-keds
Although the temperatures have started to rise it appears my wardrobe is still very much stuck in the muted tones I have been swathed in these cold months. Although I long for brights, lighter shades and fun prints, I am still constantly repeating these pieces. I find I get super into one or two pieces in my wardrobe and suddenly that's all I wear, The heart wants what it wants and for now that's dark grey, dark blue and dark purple. But hey, at least my feet are embracing the melting snow. I am so excited to pack my boots away for good, hasta luega clunky beasts!
Recipe Pineapple Salsa
Thursday, March 9, 2017
I am such a huge sucker for anything pineapple. This obsession with the sweet fruit extends to candles, cute printed tees and even a tattoo. But as far as food goes I am of the camp where pineapple belongs on anything and everything. So you bet your booty I have a kickass pineapple salsa recipe for multiple kinds of tacos.
Ingredients:
1 cup cubed pineapple
1/4 cup diced onion (red or white)
1/5 a diced jalapeno
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
Directions:
1. Dice all ingredients up, place in bowl and let sit over night, this really helps the flavours pop.
Excellent with Shrimp Tacos or Pulled chicken/pork tacos
All Wool Everything
Tuesday, March 7, 2017
So what does one wear when it's -25? A giant wool sweater, matching wool hat and a large oversized wool coat. Also wool socks, but you can't see those here. At least I'm cozy, right? I must say I am getting a little tired of the thick sweaters and being bundled. Soon enough.
Homemade Burgers
Wednesday, March 1, 2017
I absolutely love burgers and grilling, so when it was a bit warmer out we jumped on the opportunity to make some. Homemade is always better then going out and this recipe of my dad's is the BOMB.
Ingredients:
1lb lean ground beef (or turkey or chicken or bison)
1 egg
1/2 cup panko or bread crumbs
1 small container of hot salsa
1 cup chopped cilantro
3 oz shredded cheese
3 T garlic
1. Mix all the ingredient together until it's a sticky and not runny consistency. Might have to add a bit more panko or egg until it reaches a proper consistency.
2. Create 8 medium sized patties and grill!
