Festive Things

Friday, December 28, 2018
I picked up this lace blouse in September for a wedding we went to and I have worn it quite a few times since. It's such a simple piece but definitely dresses up any outfit. I've worn it with jeans, with my go-to leather skirt and layered over this slip dress it was super comfy. I love something that looks dressed up but feels like pajamas. This is the perfect thing for a new years eve party!

These leopard print shoes are the perfect contrast to an all dark look like this. These shoes were such an incredibly find in NYC I still can't get over it. Faux fur, leopard print and lace, doesn't get much more festive than that does it?! Good for new years eve, we'll be staying home this one...christmas was way too hectic for us and I am looking forward to a low key evening.
Also the temperatures have seriously dropped here so this faux fur jacket is very necessary!! Minus 20 with the windchill...

Wanna See the Palm Trees

Monday, April 9, 2018

When I found this blouse at winners, I knew it had to come with me to Mexico. The colour, the print, the cut, totally appropriate for a hot weather destination. I really love wrap style anything, dresses, tops, I'm really glad to see them back in style these days. This style is perfect for all body shapes, totally flattering. Only issue is I refused to bring a bra on holidays and in some of these photos you could definitely see right into my blouse. Note to self: bras with wrap tops aren't optional.

For some reason I am obsessed with anything with a pom pom, I thought that would level off once beanie season was over. But here I am +30 degree weather rocking pom poms on my hat. How cute is this hat though, the multi coloured poms are so fun. I can't wait for it to be nicer at home so I can bust out more colourful pieces too.

Style Guide: Swimwear

Friday, April 6, 2018
Back in the day, I used to work in a bathing suit shop and it was there that I became addicted to swimwear. Previously I would have one suit for a years...now I have 10 for one season!

Florals/Sport style

Are florals ever not in for spring/summer? I love this print because it's super feminine in a style that reminds me of my sports bras. So it's hella comfy, unfortunately my bootay was too big for the matching bottoms, but I do love me a set.

I find this amazing and awesome especially because over the year's I've struggled with body image issues. Like everyone, there's bits and pieces I would obsess over, 10 years ago I would have never had the balls to do a post like this. After all my surgeries I decided my body was amazing and I would love it more, especially with all my badass scars.

 Mix & Match

Mix and match is most certainly my go-to. Not everyone's tops and bottom halfs match in size! Mine certainly don't so it's awesome to find styles of bottoms you love and mix it with funky tops. This season this pineapple top is my favourite, because, pineapples!

 Red Hot

A bright red bikini, need I say more? So good.
I wish my sunburn didn't perfectly match this suit though.......

 The One Piece

Surprisingly this is my first one piece in years! But when I saw this pineapple print I fell in love. I wasn't expecting it to be so high cut in the booty area, can't say I'm mad though! Just glad I did those extra squats ;)  I think I'll be getting more one pieces in the future, so cute! Also, throw a pair of shorts on and viola, you have a cute top

Everyday Stretches

Wednesday, April 4, 2018
Our vacation was so good to rest the body, but the flights have a tendency to wreck havoc on my body. Sitting for 6 hours straight is not in my repertoire  and frankly it seems insane to me that some of my clients sit for 8+ hours a day. My hips felt like garbage after sitting for that long, everything needed a good stretch. You don't have to set aside hours for yoga a week to get the benefits of stretching, here are a few simple stretches you can do anywhere anytime to help with that stiffness.

1. Overhead stretch

Targets: Lats, triceps
Bring the hand overhead and reach back and touch as far down as you can on your back, place other hand gently on the elbow and relax. Hold 30s per side

2. 1/2 splits

Targets: Adductors
Bring one leg out to the side, ensure head and chest stay upright, sink into that leg, should feel it on the inside of your leg. 30s hold per side

 3. Chest stretch

Targets: Pecs, anterior delts
Bring hands together, and push back until you feel it in the front of your chest hold 30s

 4. Side body stretch

Targets: Left side of the body, It band, hip, oblique
Cross one leg in front of the other and then push into that hip, bringing the same arm up and leaning over. So if the left leg is crossed in front, the left arm will come up and over, stretching  the left side of the body. 30s per side

 5. Low lunge, with chest opener

Targets: Hip flexors, pec muscles
Ensure you are not bending into the back, but squeezing the bum to shift your hips foreward, should feel this in the front of the hip. Bring hands behind back and stretch back. 30s per side

 6. Standing calf stretch

Target: Calves
Bring feet in a staggered stance, push into front leg while keeping foot flat on the ground. Feel in the back calve. 30s per

 7. Half kneeling hamstring stretch

Targets: Hamstrings
Ensure your torso is upright and not rounding  over, ensure the knee does not hyper extend. 30s per side

8. Deep squat

Targets: Hip flexors, glutes
Feet slightly out turned, feet wider than shoulder distance, sink as low as you can into your hips while maintaining your torso upright. Hold 30s. Really good for hip mobility.

 9. Reclining stretch

Targets: Quads, front body stretch
Knees should be wider than hips when you start, ensure your legs are on the outside of your knees (look to photo, my legs are not stacked under my knees but are slightly outside) recline back into this position, you may not go very far back and that's fine. If any knee pain stop, otherwise hold 30s

Red & White

Monday, July 24, 2017

Outfit: Top-Urban Outfitters (old), shorts-winners, shoes-MIA, Necklace-F21, Purse-Rebecca Minkoff, Ring-Vintage, Shades-Winners

I love the colour red, sometimes it's hard to find the right shade, some of them are too pink, orange etc. This shirt to me is the perfect shade; I've had this one for 4 years and it's still a go-to. I love a good low back, it's a pretty casual piece and still sexy too. It's easy to dress up but paired with ripped denim shorts it was great for vacation.
This is essential vacation/summer style, shorts and a tee shirt. No muss, no fuss. I actually wore this on Canada Day, the only red thing I needed to pack! We were in Radium and had a fun day hiking, going to the hot springs and exploring. I miss vacation already.....TAKE ME BACK
