Winter Dressing

Outfit: Coat-BB dakota from miss boss, Dress-f21, boots-Payless (old), tights-Simons, Necklace-Noul and Saraswati, Rings-Noul
Whelp, it's finally happened. Winter is here and it's -19 with a windchill of -29. Yeah.....welcome to Canada. My eyes are burning as I walk to work, it's brutal. But it also means it's time to bust out the winter coats, cozy sweaters and layer up. I have to admit I was so happy to bust this baby out, not only is it cozy as hell but it's so cute. It's so important here to have a load of warm coats and having a good choice of cute ones really helps.
I think sweater dresses are going to be my go-to for the next few weeks of cold temperatures. Sweater dresses and fleece lined tights, a girl can't go wrong for that. Warm, cozy and stylish! It's hard to hit all those things on the list in this climate!

Time to Layer

Outfit: Dress-F21, Sweater-Dynamite, Boots-Nine West, Rings-The Bay & Vintage, Necklace-Stella and dot
Now that the temperatures have really dropped and the first real skiff of snow has fallen I am getting all layered and bundled up. I just can't say no to a soft sweater when it's cold out. I want to feel like I'm still all swaddled in my blankets when I have to leave the house to face the cruel elements of an Alberta winter. This sweater is perfectly cozy and the shade is great.
I felt really great about this combination, these colours seem to be meant to be warn together. I felt cozy but put together at the same time. And isn't that we all strive for? Look fantastic and still feel like you're wearing pajamas. THE DREAM

Shades of Grey

Outfit: Hat-MEC, Jacket-Gift, Tank-f21, Shoes/Jeans-Zara, Necklaces-Eliza & Ella, Saraswati Designs, Purse-Calvin Klein
. I don't know how anyone can live in a place where it's cloudy all the time. My energy level is looow when it's gloomy out, and it's hard to stay positive I find. Both myself and Duke are more likely to want to stay in bed than explore. But alas I am a grown up who prides myself on being active so I dig deep and drag both of our butts out to explore.
A lovely dose of sunshine is exactly what we needed over the last few days to really perk up our moods and leave us feeling a little more inspired. It would appear the 10 days we spent without sun has really played a role in influencing my sartorial choices. The sky is blue the sun is out and I'm wearing a lot of grey. Oh well, this hat is just too damn comfortable, I basically live in it now. So if you see a pom pom bouncing along someone slowly jogging in the river valley, gimme a wave. It's never leaving my head until May.

I have been on the look for a big comfy cozy sweater for a little while now and when I saw this one I knew it was it. It was the one! Love at first sight! I only believe in that when it comes to clothes and accessories, of course. I can`t get enough of this mustardy yellow colour. Its the perfect autumn colour and a great pop to any outfit. Not only is it a great colour, its so cozy! Its all I want to wear ever. You may get a little sick of seeing this number over the next few months because its on repeat already. Cant stop, wont stop. No apologies!

Pursuit of Happiness
Tuesday, October 18, 2016
Outfit: Dress-F21, Coat-Zara, Scarf-Garage, Boots-Nine West, Necklaces-Saraswati designs & Miss boss, rings-The bay
So its recently started snowing here, so naturally I threw on my brightest coat and ventured outside to take some outfit photos. What, isnt that what everyone would do....Nope, just crazy bloggers who will also throw on a pair of sunglasses and pretend like its not OBVIOUSLY snowing. We are indeed a strange bunch. But, I couldnt not share this coat again. This coat is my happiness. If its grey and cold and miserable out, throw on something literally made of sunshine and you will feel better. Now, although I may not be down with the weather I am down with the layers this weather brings. Cozy sweater dresses will be my uniform for the next oh, 5-6 months. Add some layered necklaces and a scarf so big I could live in it, and I am in sartorial heaven! Speaking of, I just remembered that in my first year of University I spend all of Econ 101 perusing The Sartorialist instead of paying attention. I felt I was learning more. And in fact I use what I learned from that website more than anything I learned in Econ.

Getting Cozy
Wednesday, October 12, 2016
Outfit: Dress & Necklace-Miss Boss, Shoes-Spring, Tights-Winners, Coat-Gift, Scarf-Dynamite, Rings-Noul & The bay
Well the weather here has indeed turned frightful, so that means I will look like some variation of the abominable snowman. Only hopefully chicer. That is the only plus side to our negative temperatures here, loading up on cute, cozy layers and beautiful coats. I do take pleasure when it gets cooler and I get to bust out my knits and blanket scarves. Oh boy, do I love a blanket scarf, if you catch me on a chilly saturday night out and about you best believe Ill be wearing that sucker draped on my shoulders like a cool 80 year old.
So this suede tshirt dress is the perfect base layer for layering, I knew I should have bought it in every colour!! Its just so soft, and looks great under a chunky knit or wool coat like this one. I got this coat off a friends mom who ordered something from China not realizing that an XL there is a small here. Score for me!
