Summer Nights
Thursday, August 1, 2019
I bought this dress in May, and have been patiently waiting until it was hot enough to wear it. Which somehow took until the very end of July, but fuck I'll take it. This dress is silk and I love the loose fit, and lightweight material of it. It's definitely got a 90s vibe to it that is very popular right now too.
This lipstick is new and I love how bright and neon pink it is, it's definitely my go-to for the summer months now. It's really really fun. Same with these leopard print shoes which are a fun little pop in an otherwise neutral outfit.

Picnic Ready
Friday, May 17, 2019
Nothing screams summer quite like wearing a picnic table cloth as a romper, amiright?! Gingham has always been a go to summer print in my eyes, and yet I don't own much of it. When I spotted this red and white number recently I knew it was to become a great summer staple. I mean, we all know what I'm wearing Canada Day already...
I decided to really lean into this look with my wide framed sunnies and a red lip, really go full on 50's vamp style. I gotta say, while a departure from what I've been wearing lately I was totally feeling myself this day. Except that it was so warm after being so cold for so long. My body couldn't quite adjust! Here I am complaining about being too warm after months of being too cold. No pleasing anybody right?

The 90's Called....
Wednesday, August 29, 2018
Yeah the 90's called, and I answered. Resist I may, with all the chockers, crop tops and chunky shoes, I have fully given in to the fanny packs, layered shirts and clueless esc. outfits. God I love Clueless, and I am more than happy to look like an extra in that movie. This plaid dress is something I got from Simons recently (Darcy's birthday present to me) and I love it. Can't wait to wear it with a chunky sweater and boots!!
This dress isn't so trendy that I won't be able to hang onto it for a while. This bag also came with a chain so when the fanny fade dies down this little baby will still make a great crossbody number. And a plain white tee is always useful. I love being able to dip my toes into a trend with pieces that I'll still be able to hang onto. My ban really showed me that trendy pieces while fun aren't the best investment.

I find this crop top deep in the recesses of my wardrobe, having been purchases summers ago and never worn, although I don't know why, it's super soft and comfy. It's nice to force yourself to look at what you already have/don't wear and try to incorporate those pieces again. I already have another idea of when and how I'm going to wear this kimono! I just need the rain to stop.
One thing I love about fashion is how great it can make you feel, this outfit put a smile on my face. I felt particularly good in my skin at this moment, which is always such a good feeling. Duke was watching from the car and started to cry in protest of not being the center of attention so here is the bebe lala:

Romp!
Monday, June 25, 2018
I love a good romper, they're always my go-to item in the summertime. Dresses are great and all but I like to lunge, and you never know when you'll need to squat down or go into an all out sprint. Obviously I spend a lot of time chasing Duke around so rompers are the more practical item for the active individual. I wish I had more casual ones in my wardrobe, this whole shopping ban is really putting into perspective where the holes in my wardrobe lie.
This romper is actually 3 years old now, and I am always reaching for it on those super hot summer days. The weather has been more on the unsettled side lately so this soft linen biker jacket has been great to add to my outfits. I was unsure of this purchase, but I've been getting a ton of use out of it. I think when I'm back to shopping I need a good black leather biker jacket like this. They go with everything, and make you feel like a badass.

Summer Pineapples

Outfit: Top-Zara, Necklace-Red Ribbons, Purse-Calvin Klein, Shorts-F21, Shoes/Sunnies-Winners, Rings-Vintage&Noul
If you know me, you know I have a serious thing for pineapples. Like it's starting to get a little ridiculous, when you walk into our apartment you see a whole bunch of pineapples...SO naturally when I saw these shorts I pounced on them. How adorable are they though? This has legit been my go to outfit when it's been hot these last couple months.
These shorts are loose fitting, super comfy and great with a loose tank tucked in. That's truly the best part of summer is the easy dressing. I am looking forward to fall but for now I am going to hang on a little bit tighter to my summer wardrobe. I do love transition seasons, but this summer has gone by way way way too fast. Do you feel that way too??

Kimono Season

Outfit: Kimono/jeans-F21, Top-Oak and Fort, Necklace-Saraswati designs, Shoes-Mia, Rings-vintage/oak and fort.
I have become a total sucker for a kimono these past couple summers. They're so lightweight and comfortable that they're the perfect way to finish off an outfit without being too warm. This one has such a fun tropical print that I couldn't resist. I have a problem with buying things just because the print is fun, it's something I've been getting better at as I get older. It becomes problematic when you have a closet full of clashing prints and nothing goes. Now it seems I have veered to the other side where most of my clothes are monochromatic, everything goes but there's no punch of fun. It's all about finding that sweet balance in your wardrobe, it's a lifelong battle no doubt. Guess I'll keep fighting the good fight ;)
