Outfit: Dress-Dynamite, Jacket-F21, Shoes-Aldo, Ring-Miss Boss, Necklace-Simons, Sunnies-Red Ribbon
It seems that summer has finally arrived here in Edmonton, it came on fast too. The weather here is so funny, blink and you might miss a season! I am so excited that it's nice out again, there is so much to do in this city when the weather is good. There are so many festivals to partake in, and fun outdoor activities.
Nothing says summer quite like a floral maxi either. When the weather gets too warm you want to strip down or wear something light and floaty. This dress is light and the print is incredibly fun, perfect for a date night. And worn with a pair of shoes that make me almost normal height? Yas Qween.

Outfit: Romper-F21, Jacket-Dynamite, Necklace-Simons, Purse-Rebecca Minkoff, Ring-Vintage, Shoes-Mia
My last photos from NY, so bittersweet as it already feels like a lifetime ago. I had such an amazing time and I can't wait to go back. Our last day there we went to the MET and got to see them setting up for the met gala which was so cool & we got to see the Irving Pen exhibit. Afterwards we went to Central Park and hung out and explored.
This romper was a pre NYC trip purchase that I picked up because it was ridiculously comfortable. It was the perfect thing to wear to literally romp around NYC. It finally cooled down enough to be able to wear a jacket and I was very happy to be able to wear this light pink jacket.

Recipe: Black bean and feta salad
Tuesday, May 23, 2017
This is hands down the best salad I've made lately, it's perfect for the summer, light but super filling. The lime and cilantro make it sort of Mexican themed, so it's great as a main or can be a perfect side dish. We added some grilled steak and I've also had it with a turkey burger, so good!!
Ingredients:
1 can black beans, washed
1 can corn (or fresh of the cob in season, that's the best)
3 large tomatos
3 stalks green onion
1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
1 jalepeno
1/2 cup lime juice
1/4 cup olive oil
2 T crushed garlic
1/2 cup feta
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees, spread corn on baking sheet and pour sriracha on top and bake for 20-30 minutes or until it's crunchy.
2. Chop up jalapeno, cilantro, tomatoes, green onions, put in a large bowl with the black beans and corn once it's cooked
3. Mix garlic, olive oil, and lime juice together. Pour this over the salad, mix up and top with the feta cheese.
4. Eat as is or top with steak

May Long in Edmonton
1. Run some Stairs. It's finally nice out, time to take the workout outside! Stairs are a great high intensity activity, they're quick to get in (aka they're over fast) and it's nice to get out.
2. Get out that bike!! Biking can be an easy workout or it can be quite challenging depending on the route you take. So map it out and go for a spin, take a picnic, make a day of it!
3. Outdoor Workout. Grab a couple pieces of equipment or go body weight. Take that workout outside of the gym, get some vitamin D, and fresh air at the same time.
4. Yoga in the Park. You don't have to do it in a group setting, work through a flow on your own in the park. You can download an app on your phone and follow along.

Outfit: Shorts-Garage, Bodysuit-Bamboo Ballroom, Necklace-Simons, Purse-Winners, Shoes-Keds, Ring-The Bay
Another day of exploring NYC, it's hard to compress everything we did down into a few posts. The day we went to the Yankees game it ended up being 29 degrees plus humidity (we don't do humid here, so shock to the system) So I basically opted to go naked.....aka high waisted shorts and a body suit. I'm not ready for true summer heat, there's nothing comfortable to wear. Even still I was stickly hot, but it was an amazing time. Yankees won 14-2!
We also walked the Brooklyn Bridge, a must of course. Then we got to view it from our cruise around the island. It's interesting to see it from both perspectives, and I must say I really loved Brooklyn, so many cute Brownstones! We went to the Brooklyn Bowl and saw Too Many Zooz, an amazing venue and a very very cool band.

1. Plank knee drive 30s per side
From high plank position extend leg out by squeezing glute and pull in towards chest, keep core tight. Repeat all on one side.
2. Push ups 30s
From high plank position, lower body towards bench slowly and extend back up to starting position, repeat.
3.Squat to High Pull 60s
Start with feet shoulder distance apart, sink into glutes squeeze and come back to standing, pull kettle bell to be in line with shoulders close to the body.
4. 1/2 Kneeling one arm press
One knee down core tight, same side where the knee is up press up through that arm. Ensure back is not leaning, core tight. 30s both sides
*Please ignore my face, this was the best looking out of every take....
5. 1 arm 1/2 swing 30s both sides
Start with arm slightly behind being in line with the body, keep core contacted and swing it out to meet the other hand and come back to starting position.
6. Plank Jacks 60s
In a plank position bring feet wide and then back together, as if performing a jump jack but face down.
7. Split squat 30s per side
Hold in same arm as leg that is going back onto the bench. Ensure knee that you are bending into does not fall in, the angle of this photo makes it look like mine is. Your's should be in line with the foot and knee should not extend past the foot. Push up through the glute.
Highline

Outfit: Dress/Jacket-F21, Necklace-Saraswati designs, Ring-Vintage, Bag-Rebecca Minkoff, Shoes-Keds
My first NYC post...editing these photos made me want to go back already. There's so much to do and see, I had been before 6 years ago and this trip was totally different. Both were amazing but there's so much to do that it's nice that they could be so different.
My first full day there we decided to walk the Highline, which is such an amazing concept. An old railroad track turned into a walkway/garden. There's not a ton of green space in most of NYC so to walk along the plants was a treat, especially when all around you are sprawling buildings and beneath you is the bustling traffic. It's a 1.45mile walk so comfortable shoes were definitely mandatory. Perfect distance to work our appetites up for tacos at Dos Caminos.
It was the perfect temperature that day for a light denim jacket, loose dress and wait for it.....BARE LEGS. It snowed in YEG the day before I left, so it's a big deal. This dress was really the perfect lightweight piece for roaming around NYC.
