I love the colour red, sometimes it's hard to find the right shade, some of them are too pink, orange etc. This shirt to me is the perfect shade; I've had this one for 4 years and it's still a go-to. I love a good low back, it's a pretty casual piece and still sexy too. It's easy to dress up but paired with ripped denim shorts it was great for vacation.
This is essential vacation/summer style, shorts and a tee shirt. No muss, no fuss. I actually wore this on Canada Day, the only red thing I needed to pack! We were in Radium and had a fun day hiking, going to the hot springs and exploring. I miss vacation already.....TAKE ME BACK

Pelvic Posture
Friday, July 21, 2017
I've stressed before how important your posture is not just when exercising but all the time; bad posture creatures tightness in certain muscles and makes you unable to engage others. Your pelvic posture is incredibly important to keep you upright, avoid back pain, allow you to have a strong functional core among many other things. For women in particular it becomes important for pelvic floor engagement etc. These days having a big popping bootaaay is all the rage, but sticking your butt out can create real problems for your low back and your posture. As soon as you place yourself in this anterior pelvic tilt position it becomes really hard to engage your core. This makes activities such as weighted squats really problematic, as you risk your low back health.
Exercises to help engage core and correct poor pelvic posture
1. Pelvic Tilts: Lay flat on the ground with a round in the low spine, slowly rotate your pelvis so there is no longer any space between the floor and your back. Brace core, breath deeply for 4 counts, bring back up. 12-15 repetitions.
2. Cat Cows, you should have a certain amount of mobility through the spine, work on rounding the back in the mid/upper region, then creating an exaggerated rounding in the lower region. Go back and forth between the two movements 12-15 reps.
3. Deadbugs. Bring arms up in line with shoulder, bring knees in towards the chest, really draw in through the core, bracing from all sides and focus on breathing out as you lower one leg at a time, alternating. 12-15reps.
4. Bird Dogs: Knees under hips, hands under shoulders, bring leg arm out and right leg out, ensure back is nice and flat and you are in control of this movement. Hold the extension, bring in together. To ensure you're not wavering in this posture you can place a yoga block on the low back. 12-15reps per side.

We have visited Merritt, BC, the last three summers in a row and I never tire of it. We stay right outside the town on Nicola Lake, and there is so much to do like paddle boarding, working on the dock, swimming, cliff jumping and exploring, we were never bored! The only day we had that was even slightly cool (still 24 degrees) and overcast, we decided to explore this bluff. It overlooked the lake and even though it was spitting a bit we stayed up here for a while. Such a view!
These ripped shorts and a variation of top was all I wore this past holidays, it's easy and comfortable. This top has such pretty little flowers on it and I've gotten a lot of use of it. Comfortable and cute casual wear is really what I live for, especially when it's hot in the summer months.

I found this t-shirt on sale and I couldn't not buy it. It has pineapples AND french bulldogs on it, I think this shirt was literally made for me! It's also the most comfortable material in the world, so perfect for the summer heat. This may possibly be something I've worn like 15 times since I got it. You can't help what you love!
How beautiful is this yellow leather jacket? This is such a happy, fun colour and it always perks up any outfit. It's nice to have a piece that adds a little pizzaz to any look, simple but fun. Hope it perks up your monday!

Hike Alberta/BC
Monday, July 10, 2017
Hikes are such a great way to get some outdoor exercise, see a gorgeous view and explore a new place. Theres a hike out there for every level, if you type in "hike ___" wherever you're going will have a list and organized by beginner to hard.
Location: About 1/2 hour from Jasper, Alberta
Time: Took us just over 4 hours, said it would take 6 hours
Hiking is such a fun form of exercise and we are so fortunate to live 3-4 hours away from the mountains. We were on our way to BC for holidays, and you can't drive through the mountains without stopping to explore at least once. This hike was really wonderful, I kept stopping, turning around and looking at the view. At a certain point you can take a much steeper more challenging trail which is the one we chose, but there is also a more gently inclining trail you can take which is a bit longer. This was a challenging hike in certain places, but it was really fun! We ended up hitting snow and this was the end of June, so that was an interesting surprise.
The Hike: Juniper Trail 6km there and back
The Location: Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia
Time: 1.5-2 hours
This hike's distance isn't too bad but it is essentially just switchbacks all the way up. It's right before the hot springs pool so you could hike all the way and then go straight to the springs where it finishes. We hiked up for over an hour and then went back to where we parked and then went to the hot springs. Now the hot springs are the best thing ever to go to after a nice long hike.
Versatile Pieces

Outfit: Dress/Rings-Noul, Denim jacket-F21, Sweater-Aritzia, Shoes/Sunnies-Winners, Purse-Calvin Klein
This whole resurgence of the 90's style has me pretty happy; simple, easy pieces that mix and match well. This slip dress has heavily been on rotation for the past year for me. I dressed it down with this hoodie, and denim jacket for a coffee date with a friend. I've also dressed it up with heels and a cute little jacket and even tucked it into high wasted jeans as a cami. I swear this is the most versatile piece of clothing I own.
I think there is a lot of focus with fashion of more, more, more. I find myself even getting caught up into this and wanting something new, something more on trend etc etc. But I think that if I had 10 items that were so easy to mix and match. I would actually be much happier.
